Responsibilities:

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Sales Associate in a luxury retail environment, preferably in fashion or high-end accessories.
  • Passion for fashion, art, and luxury with a keen eye for design and detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening and the ability to build rapport with diverse clientele.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets consistently.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, providing a personalized shopping experience to each customer.
  • Impeccable presentation and attention to detail, aligning with the brand's aesthetic and image.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and irregular hours as required.
  • Knowledge of POS systems and basic computer skills.
  • Fluency in additional languages is a plus.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Buyer to join our team at Michelle Farmer. As a Buyer, you will play a critical role in driving the success of our business by carefully selecting and procuring product lines that align with our brand philosophy and resonate with our discerning clientele. Your keen eye for trends, market knowledge, and strong negotiating skills will be instrumental in building our product assortment and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct extensive market research to identify emerging trends, new designers, and artisanal products that align with our brand image.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing vendors, while actively seeking new collaborations and partnerships.
  • Plan and execute seasonal buying strategies, including assortment planning, merchandise selection, pricing, and inventory management.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with vendors to ensure favorable terms and maximize profitability.
  • Analyze sales performance and customer feedback to make informed decisions on product assortment and assortment adjustments.
  • Monitor industry and competitor activity, staying updated on market trends and customer preferences.
  • Enter Purchase orders, run sell through reports and facilitated any vendor returns.
  • Work with logistics team to ensure accurate inventory levels are maintained and needed product is shipped to store locations.
  • Collaborate closely with the Visual Merchandising and Marketing teams to ensure effective product presentations and promotional activities.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of purchasing activities, including purchase orders, invoices, and vendor contracts.
  • Travel to domestic and international trade shows, designer showrooms, and events to source new collections and establish relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as a Buyer in the luxury fashion industry.
  • Strong knowledge of current fashion trends, designers, and the luxury retail market.
  • Proven track record of successful buying, demonstrating a solid understanding of product assortment planning, financial acumen, and inventory management.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain strong vendor relationships.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience working with retail management systems.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
